Application ACU-WCNS Schemes in Problems with Severe Shocks

Abstract

In this paper we investigated shock-capturing capabilities of adaptive upwind-central weighted nonlinear compact scheme (ACU-WNCS) in presence of severe shocks. This goal was achieved by solving a series of shock tube problems which include strong shocks. Results of numerical simulations show some members of ACU-WNCS family have robust shock-capturing capabilities in presence of severe shocks.
