Dynamics of the Jet Thrust of a Pulsed Detonation Combustor in the Course of Burning Oxygen-Enriched Heptane/Air Mixtures

Abstract

The present work considers the results of experimental investigation of the thrust of a reactive-type pulsed detonation combustor (PDC) in a wide range of the enriching of a heptane/air mixture with oxygen ([O2] = 30 … 320 l/min). It turned out that oxygen promotes enhancement of the PDC thrust but this effect has an extremal character with a maximum in the region of the stoichiometric composition of mixture.
