Thermal Characteristics of Taylor Bubble Flow

Abstract

Results of numerical simulations of Taylor bubbles with turbulent wakes rising in stagnant water columns are presented. The velocity field was found to be in good agreement with previous measurements, collected using PIV. Heating of the tube wall with a constant heat flux permitted the study of the temperature field.
