Lateral Ejection during Fusion Laser Cutting Process

Abstract

The contribution of the recoil pressure during laser cutting of stainless steel is carried out in this study. It has been shown that lateral ejection due to the recoil pressure cannot occur when the surface temperature of the interaction zone Ts is smaller than the vaporization one Tv. It is concluded that the downward melt flow due to the assisting gas jet is the main one mechanism of melt ejection from the kerf.text
